THE IMPORTANCE OF AGRICULTURE AND FARMING IN AFGHANISTAN

Agriculture can be defined as the production, processing, marketing and distribution of crops and livestock products, this being a modern concept since previously it was conceived as an exclusive term for vegetable crops.
Agriculture plays a crucial role in a country's economy; it is the backbone of our economic system; not only provides food and raw materials, but also employment opportunities to a significant amount of population. Some facts that we can clearly highlight are:
Contribution to national income:
Agriculture is one of the main axes on which the economy of the country develops, both in the economic sphere and in food security. The report of Agricultural Productivity of Ecuador indicates that this activity contributes an average of 8.5% to the GDP, being the sixth sector that contributes to the production of the country.
Supply of food and fodder:
The agricultural sector also provides fodder for livestock. Bovines provide food in the form of milk or meat to meet the food needs of people.
Importance in international trade:
It is the agricultural sector that feeds the country's commerce. Agricultural products such as bananas, cacao, flowers, coffee, bananas, among others, are the main items of exports from Ecuador. If the process of agricultural development is fluid, exports increase and imports are considerably reduced.
Therefore, it helps reduce the adverse balance of payments and save our currencies. This amount can be well used to import other necessary inputs, raw materials, machinery and other infrastructures that are otherwise useful for the promotion of the country's economic development.
Marketable surplus:
The development of the agricultural sector leads to marketable surplus. As the country develops, more and more people will be engaged in mining, manufacturing and other non-agricultural sectors. All these people depend on the production of food they can obtain from the marketable surplus.
As agriculture develops, production increases and the marketable surplus expands. This can be sold to other countries. Here, it is worth mentioning that the development of Japan and other countries was possible thanks to the surplus of agriculture. There is no reason why this can not be done in our own case.
Source of raw material:
Agriculture has been the source of raw materials for the main industries such as cereals, corn, sugar, edible and non-edible oils, etc., all of this depends directly on agriculture.
From the above, it can be concluded that agriculture occupies an important place in the development of an economy. In fact, it is a precondition for economic growth, making it vital to continue training professionals in this diverse field
